County Clare is known through-out Ireland as the 'Banner County' (the colors of that banner can be seen in the map to the right).
County Clare has a
living Gaelic tradition, which can be heard and seen in its
music and arts. With the recent upsurge of interest in all things
Irish, Clare's cultural heritage is proving to be very popular with visitors and consequently some of the villages and towns of Clare (i.e. Doolin, Miltown Malbay) are
becoming world famous, mostly for the traditional music to be heard there (especially in local pubs during holiday season).

Within its regional boundaries can be found some very diverse natural features and odd quirks of
nature. These include the Cliff's of Moher (the highest sea-cliffs in Europe), species of Alpine flora to be found
living almost at sea-level ( Mountain Avens ) and the 'Burren', a karst limestone region covering a large proportion of County Clare.
