A village on the Galway to Ennis road. The Crusheen area has a number of field monuments (wedge grave, ruined castles, churchs) and several small local lakes for the coarse angler. In 1651 the Cromwellian Ludlow defeated a force of Royalists at the siege of Inishcronan Castle. the village has a particularly pleasant and unassuming thatched pub, Fogortys, with two open fires: the one in the small bar could roast an ox, and food is served.
