Built on the River Fergus on the edge of the Burren , Corofin is a convenient location from which to tour the area. Its principal attraction is the Clare Heritage Centre , which has a data-bank for people who which to trace their Co. Clare ancestry and a display of the famine period. There is fishing in the region but Lake Inchiquin , which was once a noted trout fishery , is suffering the effects of pollution. It is located in scenic countryside about 2 miles from Corofin. |
