Quilty actually has two beaches: the dreary-looking obvious one (usually black with washed-up sea-weed and very rough), and the much nicer sheltered sandy beach along the side of the bay past the low cliffs: turn off the N67 and aim for the round tower of the local church. Not much frequented and recommended by Ireland Mid-West Online for a peaceful day. The local church has its own interesting history; see Quilty town information.
Access: by road: N67 from North and South
