Thursday 17th - Annual Pony Show at Clifden (77th year) beginning at 9.00am. This famous and historic show is attended by thousands, many whom are overseas visitors who come to see the ponies, mares, sires and foals connected especially with this region, but also of other parts of Ireland.
Sunday 20th - Claregalway Agricultural Show (10th) to be held at the Claregalway Equestrian Centre at Rockwood. The show will open at 9.00am. There will be 212 classes including horses, ponies, donkeys, cattle, dogs, homebaking, crafts, photography, flowers, jams and children's events. Entries will be accepted on the day, so why not get yourself down there !
Sunday 27th - Annual Oughterard Show. Opening at 9.30am it is to be held at the Corrildale Grounds. This year's show (the 39th) will offer The All-Ireland Ridden Performance of Connemara Pony championships, The FBD Connact Draught Foal championship, horses, ponies, livestock as well as many novelty events. The crafts and domestic arts will be held in the Community Centre.
