When I was a young nurse I remember being horrified at watching the surgeons chipping away the bony growths called bunions with hammer and chisel! Bunions may not be a glamourous complaint, but they are very painful and cripple the sufferer. From Australia a non medical man has come up with a better way to get rid of bunions. This is called the Bowen method after the inventor. It takes three weeks at least of soaking the feet, twice a day for twenty minutes in magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts) dissolved in a bowl of warm water. Three tablespoonfuls are used to each bowl of water. Bowen says that this will dissolve the calcification that cause the growth in the first place. Magnesium Sulphate is a very useful substance. It can also be mixed into a paste and used as a poultice to draw out pus from boils and wounds. Some people take it as a laxative at night. It is dear here. In England it is very cheap to buy. 1.30 for a kilo.
